Nursing Team

Mrs Georgia Agyemang – Practice Nurse

I am a Registered General Nurse with many years’ experience in providing nursing care to patients of all ages and background. My background experience of working at different healthcare settings, have enriched my nursing skills, which enables me to deal with many aspects of nursing care with great confidence. I am passionate about my role as a nurse, mainly because it allows me to help people every day, whether by helping them to meet their health care needs or supporting them with their social care needs. My goal is always to provide the best possible care to my patients while respecting their wishes and contribution, by supporting them to be actively involved in their own care, treatment and support, to improve better outcomes and experience for patients.

Practice Nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The Practice Nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

Ms Sharon Mackenzie – Diabetes Specialist Nurse

I have been a diabetes specialist since 1997. My current special interest is in chronic kidney disease, where I am undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Medicine. I am passionate about Health & Wellbeing in relation to diabetes lifestyle changes and have recently qualified as a Level 2 Fitness Instructor. I have worked in acute hospital settings an in-patient DSN which allowed me to become a DAFNE trainer and able to manage Type 1 patients. I have also taught on X-pert type 2 group education for many years. Diabetes Care in the Primary care setting is challenging and is therefore pivotal to the success of the person with diabetes journey. This is where I am able to create ´A Legacy Effect´.
