European Antibiotic Awareness Day & World Antimicrobial Awareness Week

Monday, 21 November 2022

Antibiotic resistance is one of the biggest threats facing us today.

This is World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (18th-24th November 2022). The 2022 theme, Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together, aims to increase awareness of global antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health care providers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance.

The NHS in England and in North West London (NWL) is determined to reduce antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by focusing on reducing overprescribing of antibiotics as there is a known link between the two. Please have a read of the document below to find out more.

Only with your help, will we all be able to rise to the national and global challenge of fighting antimicrobial resistance
